Robert H. Tessier, Principal

Educated at Providence College with a degree in Political Science, Mr. Tessier earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) in 1972 at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

After joining the Massachusetts firm, Professional Management Services, he became their Executive VP and Director of Consulting Services. In this capacity, his focus was negotiations, feasibility studies and recruitment of physicians to Chairmanships.

As Reimbursement Consultant to a number of state societies, he was able to obtain favorable financial arrangements. The 70s were spent with Radiology groups and handling significant consulting assignments throughout the US. In 1982, he formed the NJ based, HBP Services.

Mr. Tessier was introduced to Pathology at New York Hospital where he established the first private practice group in NY City. A consultation to Yale Pathology resulted in their becoming the first private practice group in CT. This required complete third party negotiation leading to extensive work with Pathology groups in other states.

Bob's current focus is the development of strategic alliances and planning for regional initiatives for successful clients who have a 5+year outlook. Joint ventures, hospital negotiations and the management of free standing labs and imaging centers are other areas of expertise.

John Pacileo, Director of Management Services 

Mr. Pacileo has over 15 years of practice management experience, working directly with hospital based physicians specifically in the areas of physician revenue cycle management, contract negotiations, and the evaluation of medical billing systems.

Prior to joining HBP, Mr. Pacileo was employed by Park City Hospital in Bridgeport CT as the Accounting Manager. John is a graduate of Sacred Heart University with a BS in Finance.

 

Lee Pino, Vice President, Operations

Mr. Pino has over 25 years of experience working in the field of healthcare. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting (1978) and a Masters' Degree in Finance (1987), both from Sacred Heart University. After serving as Accounting Manager at Norwalk Hospital for 10 years, he joined HBP in 1990.

Mr. Pino's financial skills enabled him to make an easy transition to the role of Practice Manager, where he has been involved with many hospital-based clients. Areas of Mr. Pino's expertise include cost accounting, retirement plans, fringe benefits, professional liability insurance, financial reporting, accounts receivable management, compliance, managed care negotiations, billing audits and system evaluations.

Mr. Pino established HBP's first Connecticut Office in 1991 located in New Haven. Mr. Pino is the Vice President of HBP's Connecticut Operations.

  

Catherine Martorella, Company Controller 

Catherine Martorella is a 1997 graduate of Quinnipiac University earning a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Computer Science.

Mrs. Martorella began her career at HBP in January, 2002 as a staff accountant. Responsibilities included providing full fianacial services to several of our clients and Company billing. During the seven years at HBP, her experience included both cash and accrual based client reporting, as well as coordinating a full billing software conversion in 2004.

Effective May, 2007, Cathy was promoted to the position of Company Controller. She is responsible for supervising all accounting and lockbox functions. Together with her well qualified staff, Cathy coordinates the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts for all clients, as well as full financial reports with supporting documentation.
